By Vicki Winger

The Whitecourt Cats played another at home game against the Peace Wapiti Titans at Graham Acres on October 3. The Cats played aggressively throughout the game but had a tough time at keeping the Titans back. By halftime, the Titans managed to stay ahead with a score of 17-14. It remained a close game by the third quarter bringing the Cats only one point behind with a score of 17-16. Both sides had very strategic moves and played well as the crowd went crazy cheering them on into the last quarter. The Titans were able to get one more touchdown and were not successful in the two-point conversion. With only a few minutes left of game play, the Cats gained possession of the ball and pushed hard for a touchdown, but time ran out. The final score to close out the game was 23-16 for the Peace Wapiti Titans making it the Cats first loss of the season. The next and final home game is at Graham Acres on October 11 against the Grande Prairie Celtics.
