Soup’s on for Whitecourt’s Central School. The grade five students are helping with the Tennille’s Hope program again this year. In groups of four (plus a supervisor), students help at the soup kitchen by serving meals and assisting with the cleanup. Volunteers apply by filling out an Always Caring Eagles (ACE) Squad application and the program is organized by the school’s leadership committee.
In more Central School soup news, the Hot Soup Card program is now underway. Applications were due November 12 for children to take part in this twice-monthly Hot Soup program through the winter months. Those interested in assisting with making soup or sharing a soup recipe may contact the school for details.
Soup is a filling, nutritious meal and a very welcome one when the weather turns brisk. Kudos to Central School students for working at the soup kitchen and with the Hot Soup program.
