The Whitecourt Wolverines Hockey School took place last week and welcomed a significant increase in participation. Seventy-five children, 25 more than last year, signed up for the five-day school which taught basic skills from skating to passing, shooting, and team play. Children from Edson, Peace River, Mayerthorpe, Sangudo, and Whitecourt enjoyed learning alongside Wolverine coaching staff as well as a few players. Whitecourt Wolverines associate coach Marcus Ryan said, “Its good to give back to the families who support us all season.” The main camp for the Wolverines starts on August 20.
