Education Week 2016

Last week was Education Week and in an effort to draw attention and community interest to local education and the importance education plays in our lives, Northern Gateway Public Schools created a series of videos and posted them to their website throughout the week.

If you didn’t get the chance to view the videos last week, now is a great time. Northern Gateway took to the community to film various people’s idea of what ‘Learning for Life. Together’ means to them, and the responses were great. Interviewees included NGPS Board members, as well as business owners and community members throughout the region.

The videos act to emphasize the importance of education, not just in the classroom but in everyday life. Whether you are learning by doing through work, investigating the world around you one-on-one, or taking advantage of local learning opportunities such as going to a museum, joining a community group, or acting as a volunteer, there are many different ways that we can all continue to educate ourselves.
