A weekend split for the Wolverines

wolverines-4

The Whitecourt Wolverines played back to back on Friday and Saturday with two quick games to end out the week. On Friday, they played against the Okotoks Oilers and it was an exciting match up. It was fast paced from start to finish with last second goals to secure the 4-3 win for the Wolverines. #29 Liam Motley scored two goals in the last few minutes of the game with only 36 seconds between them. He also scored the game winner with only 44 seconds left on the clock, causing fans to jump and cheer at the excitement of a late game scoop.

On Saturday, the Wolverines took on the Brooks Bandits and, true to their name, they stole the show. The Wolverines gave it their all, getting on the board once and fighting hard to knock the Bandits off their game but ultimately Brooks took it, 4-1.

The Wolverines remain at the top of their division and are still first overall in the AJHL. Their hard work has clearly paid off. Next action on the way comes on Friday, November 25 at home against the Bonnyville Pontiacs, and a pair of away games against the Storm in Grande Prairie on Saturday, November 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 27 at 2 p.m.
