Party in the Park is looking like it is going to be a great event this year for the 11th annual showcase. It is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 16 and 17 in Rotary Park and it’s going to include music, food, a carnival and games, along with Arts in the Park on Saturday.
There are some great headliners for the music part of the party. Dan Davidson will be playing on Friday, with The Orchard as openers, and Punch-Drunk Cabaret will be opening for The Watchmen on Saturday. Local musicians at the Live Music Showcase include the Michelle Arcand Band, Dionna Arcand, Erin Haley and Band, Midnite Special, Danielle Knapp, Adam And Katlyn Szybunka, Joe Public, The Murms, and others.
As for food, there has been great attention paid to providing cultural diversity, and there will be a lot of different options available, including Argentinian, First Nations, and Ukrainian foods along with other foods and of course, the everyday favourites. There will be a beer tent, hosted by the Performing Arts Society on both evenings.
Kids can enjoy The Great Balanzo, headlining on the main stage at the Kids Fest on the Saturday, and there will be inflatables, bubble balls, and laser tag. In addition to Party in the Park, Arts in the Park will be happening on Saturday afternoon from 1-5pm. Come to the Artisan Market and discover unique things to buy, and of course there will be lots of things to buy.
Sponsors have been generous as usual, and there will be an appreciation dinner on Wednesday June 8 at the Eagle River Casino. The event could not happen without the commitment from the community.
Party in the Park is a free family event and it is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy all the activities, the sunshine and the fun of the beautiful Rotary Park. Get ready!
