The Cats held another home game last Friday against the Sexsmith Sabres. The stands were packed with parents from both teams cheering them on. Although it’s still relatively early in the season, the Whitecourt Cats have taken consistent wins and last week’s game was no exception. They started off with a strong lead closing out the first quarter with a 17-0 lead against the Sabres. With only a minute left in the second quarter, the Sabres had a field goal earning them six points plus one bonus point. The Cats were just warming up and played a solid last half. By the end of the third quarter they took a substantial lead on the scoreboard with a 31-7 spread. The final quarter had the teams battling back and forth across the field, and both sides were able to hold each other with no further touchdowns. The final score was 31-7 with the Cats taking another win for Whitecourt.
