Kangoo is a workout program that was created to be done will wearing spring boots. Kangoo boots were originally developed with the intention of reducing the impact on joggers joints. Within the first few minutes, I understood what the hype was about. While jumping you are said to burn up to twice the calories. As I soon learned, the hardest part of adjusting to Kangoo boots is standing still.
Studio 83 is home to the Kangoo Club Whitecourt, lead by Tabitha Leinweber. The class was enjoyable and considering the fact that it was a workout, it was a lot of fun. Tabitha kept everyone laughing and motivated. Even the first time attendees of the class enjoyed themselves and maintained high spirits. After the class, I had a chance to talk to Tabitha and she had this to say,
“I have been to groups and classes where the instructors single you out which makes the whole experience unenjoyable, and actually made me avoid them altogether. I want to create a fun environment where people can exercise and enjoy themselves.”
With a previous hip injury myself, I was quite sceptical to be bouncing in general let alone on a pair of spring boots. With that, I was not going to turn down a challenge. Tabitha made sure the choreography was easy to follow but still made sure that everyone was sweating halfway through the class. By the end, I was winded and pleasantly surprised by the lack of pain or stiffness in my hip all together. The spring boots made it easy to complete the workout with no pain. My muscles had been working but there was no aching or popping in my joint that I have grown accustomed too.
Kangoo is an all ages class that allows for all body types to push through workouts comfortably. Tabitha leads a class that is welcoming and enjoyable for everyone who attends and with an affordable drop-in of $20 which includes the boot rental, I would definitely recommend the class to anyone interested in fitness.
