It was a busy last week for local seniors as every day some activity or event occurred as part of Seniors’ Week whether it was getting bused to social events, seminars, sports activities, or having visitors stop by to visit.
Last Wednesday, the McNaughton Funny Farm was the main attraction for the afternoon at Spruceview Seniors’ Lodge on the hill. Sheila McNaughton brought in some farm animals for a petting zoo. Some of the animals were from her farm and others from the Anselmo 4H Club. Senior guests gathered in the courtyard for some lemonade, conversation, and a chance to get up close to some friendly animals.
McNaughton brought in her prize-winning lamb, mom and baby goat, dogs, hamster, a unique looking Silkie chicken, and a miniature horse. Voices could be heard down the hallway. “Come outside and check this out,” some were heard saying when they saw the animals. Overall, it was a great day that put smiles on the faces of the seniors.
