Shinny hockey and public skating have officially commenced its season that will continue until next Spring. Shinny hockey is an informal type of hockey game that allows players to hone in on their skills and play some one-on-one or practice some of their moves. The sessions are not just for youngsters enrolled in a hockey league; it is open to all children who want to skate and pass the puck around.
On August 21, youngsters eleven years and under were learning to move swiftly on their skates, while the older youngsters were working on their slapshots and passing. For hockey mom’s Stacey Woyewoda and Jennifer Brown, it’s a great opportunity to get their boys out on the ice to practice their moves in preparation of this season’s minor hockey.
