Construction season is here, and crews will be out in force in the coming weeks working to complete local road and other infrastructure projects.
Construction crews are in town this week to complete concrete work as part of the 2020 Street Improvement Program. Projects include sidewalk repairs, drainage improvements, and catch basin rehabilitation. All concrete work will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Crews have started working on the Dahl Drive median, which extends from Highway 43 to Kepler Street. One lane on each side of the median will be closed for the safety of motorists and workers. Motorists are encouraged to use 51 Street to access Highway 43 and avoid Dahl Drive if possible. Major concrete locations include the following locations, which will have disrupted traffic flow until July 10. Please use caution when travelling in the following areas:

Whitecourt Infrastructure Services crews have begun sealing cracks throughout the community, and work will continue
throughout July.
As is typically the case, Whitecourt experienced temperature swings throughout the winter and spring season, which has created ideal conditions for the development of potholes. Pot hole patching throughout town has begun.
Maintenance of Highway 43 and Highway 32 in Whitecourt are the responsibility of Alberta Transportation. Details on projects planned in our region throughout the summer can be found on https://511.alberta.ca/
The Town of Whitecourt appreciates your understanding and patience throughout the summer construction season. Regular updates on construction projects will be posted online at www.whitecourt.ca and on the Town’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TownofWhitecourt.
