Last week, Alayssia Drews, owner of Talk of the Toddlers Day home in Whitecourt, set up a row of chairs on her driveway so her day home children could watch the big, green GFL garbage truck as it picked up her bin. At 9:30 am, the group went outside. “My kids look forward to every Thursday morning, and some days, by the time everyone gets to the door and outside, we miss seeing it. So, I decided to set up the chairs so we wouldn’t miss it,” she explained. As the truck rolled up to her house, the driver spotted them on her driveway and stopped. “We were delighted when he hopped out of the truck and came to give high-fives to the kids,” said Drews. The GFL driver, Chris Lapointe, even let the kids take a peek inside the truck. “Big thanks to Chris for being the highlight of the week and making the kid’s day!”
