Alberta Dirt Riders Association, an organization from Stony Plain, hosted the final rounds for the 2020 Honda Extreme Motocross Series, August 29 and 30 at the WhiteRidge MX Park in Blue Ridge.
The ADRA is a non-profit sports club organization that encourages, promotes, coordinates, improves and provides the means to enhance all those who wish to participate in off-road motorsports throughout Alberta.
The ADRA has had about 3000 entries over the past four weekends starting July 25 and July 26 at B3 Motox Park in Spedden, Chaos Motocross in Two Hills and WhiteRidge MX Park in Blue Ridge. August 29 and August 30 the ADRA saw approximately 700 entries for the final rounds.
The finals had riders from across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. Due to the number of riders involved, the ADRA spokesperson noted that the events were not overly publicized due to restrictions on public outdoor events.
Over 40 volunteers helped with the event, including flag people, paramedics, and event coordinators for the two-day finals. The series had 16 categories which included, beginner, 250 JR, 450 JR, open JR, 250 INT, Plus 40, 125CC open, Ladies beginner, 50CC 4-6, 50 CC 7-8, 50 CC open,65 CC 7-11, Supermini, 85 CC 7-11, Vet Junior, and Vet Master. Seventeen pro riders attended, and the Junior. class had to be limited to 40 riders, which has not happened in years, stated Chris Bauman from the ADRA Facebook page.
Also noted from Chris Bauman on ADRA’s Facebook page, We have to thank all of our amazing sponsors that keep supporting us year after year, the families that have attended all summer and the volunteers; without people to help, none of this would be possible. Thank you to all the tracks that stepped up and allowed us to use your facilities in this wild time. See everyone next year!
