Pumpjacks Players is gearing up for another incredible performance! On May 14 at 7 p.m. and May 15 at 2 p.m., the public is invited to come see Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr. at the Whitecourt Community Centre. Tickets are only $15 and can be purchased at the Whitecourt District Public Library. The cast contains 40 students between eight and 18 years of age who are working diligently to perfect their parts as pictured from last Wednesday’s practice. Noah Despins plays the White Rabbit and says he is pumped for his 5th stage play. He noted that playing the “always late” rabbit is fun as “he’s the exact opposite of me cause I’m always on time.” The Queen of Hearts is known for being full of attitude and Emma Munday is excited for it saying, “the attitude I get to give and the power I have is awesome!” Janelle Sallstrom, co-producer, says Pumpjacks is overwhelmed by the record amount of volunteers and sponsors this year “considering the economy and the struggle here locally.” She adds that “the support for the arts is amazing.”
