The AstroDome personnel made a trip to Whitecourt recently to share the wonders of space with Whitecourt students. The AstroDome is a mobile, inflatable dome with an HD digital projector that creates a traveling planetarium.
The company offers educational opportunities to schools and more, traveling all over Alberta. The 20 foot by 12 foot dome is large enough to fit an entire class in, which is equal to 45 students or 35 adults, and provides an immersive learning experience. Although geared toward schools, the dome is also great for summer camps, conferences, trade shows, and community groups looking to shake up their offerings.
The dome is capable of broadcasting live planetarium shows and professionally produced HD feature films. There are a selection of educational programs available geared to a wide range of age groups, and is an inventive idea for birthday parties, too.
The fees for the dome are very reasonable and can be found at astrodome.ca.
