The Town of Whitecourt has once again organized a whole slew of family-friendly activities to commemorate Canada Day, and it all begins at 9:30 a.m. with the parade downtown. Following the parade, residents can take advantage of the pancake breakfast that Town Council is hosting at the Seniors Circle, running from 10 to 11:30 a.m., or you can scurry over to Rotary Park for a kick-off to the volleyball tournament.
From noon onward, there will be tons of activities at Rotary Park including face painting, inflatables, a kids’ carnival, live entertainment, and crafts. There will also be a crib tournament gearing up at the Seniors Circle at 1 p.m., and the fireworks by Graham Acres will begin at 11:15 p.m.
Organizers are still accepting entrants for the parade, as well as volunteers, and you can contact them at july1parade@gmail.com.
