The Whitecourt Fire Department was called out Sunday at 10 p.m. for an industrial building fire at the corner of 50 Avenue and West Street. Approximately 30 firefighters, along with mutual aid, battled the blaze for over 10 hours in freezing temperatures. The Town of Whitecourt had a transit bus on scene for emergency crews to warm up in. At 8:45 Monday morning it was declared extinguished. The building was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported.
