After an extended delay due to a lack of snow and warmer-than-seasonal temperatures, Eastlink Park finally opened up its T-Bar on Friday to the delight of local skiers and snowboarders. The recent cold snap, compounded with recent snow accumulation, gave staff just what they needed to make tons and tons of the fluffy white stuff to move around and shape into perfectly groomed trails. On Friday, it was also Carlan Services Sponsorship night. The hill was free to ski, snowboard and tube down, excluding rentals, and many people took advantage of the opportunity. The big, bright, beautiful moon lit the slopes after a vibrant sunset, making for a perfectly mild evening to enjoy one of Whitecourt’s gem attractions.
