On February 2, 2019 at approximately 11:00 A.M.
the Mayerthorpe RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision between a
truck and an SUV in the eastbound lanes of Highway 43 near Highway 22.
Preliminary police investigation revealed the SUV was travelling west in
the eastbound lanes of travel colliding with the truck who was
travelling east.
The 61-year-old female driver and sole occupant of the SUV was
pronounced dead on scene. The three adult occupants of the truck were
transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Mayerthorpe RCMP along with an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist are
continuing to investigate. Names of the involved will not be released.
