Say what you want about fast food, there are times it does a body good – especially when those bodies belong to the families of children being treated in one of Edmonton’s medical facilities.
All Ronald McDonald Houses are independently owned and operated. Ronald McDonald House Northern Alberta services the Edmonton area. The Northern House gave temporary accommodation to over 700 families in 2014, providing worried families a comfortable, affordable (a $12 donation per night is suggested) place to stay while their child is under medical care. Offices in the Peace and Lakeland regions provide additional support to the families when they return home.
During the recent McHappy Days in Edson and Whitecourt, $10,572 was raised to support Ronald McDonald House Northern Alberta. “On behalf of the families who stay at the house during their time of need, thank you to our staff, customers, local media, and community leaders for giving the extra time and effort it takes to so positively touch the lives of others,” said Steve and Linda Mangnall, the grateful owners of the two restaurant locations.
