The Wok Box recently opened its doors for business June 25. Franchise owner Michael Samuel said, “We started out gradually with just doing a soft opening. We did not want to announce a big opening and get inundated with customers off the get-go. We wanted the new staff to be able to learn and prepare the perfect food that Wok Box is famous for. Most importantly, we wanted the customers to be happy with their first visit to our restaurant.”
This is not another Chinese Restaurant as one may think by the name. In fact, the Wok Box is Asian cuisine. The most popular Asian dishes from India to Hong Kong are served. “Dishes are from most of the Asian continent as well as vegan and gluten-free meals,” said Samuel.
He has been operating the Wok Box in Edson for the past three years. He decided to expand the franchise to Whitecourt saying, “There was an opportunity for this type of restaurant to do well.” He plans to move his family to Whitecourt from Edson soon.
