Arts in the Park is back for a new season! Saturday afternoon at Rotary Park, in partnership with National Aboriginal Day, the first of three events was held. The Alexis Nakota Sioux One Fire First Nations Dancers performed to the beat of the drum circle under the pavilion as people enjoyed the show from all sides. Those in attendance had the opportunity to sample authentic bannock and view a totem pole contest. The free family event also featured an artisan market with local artists displaying their creations from paintings to jewelry, woodwork to ceramics, and even sage smudging. The next Arts in the Park will be an evening event from 5 to 8 p.m. on July 20 at Rotary Park. To join as an artisan or performer, call Courtney at 780-778-3637 ext. 423.
