No end to greed

Dear Editor,

Some time ago, I wrote about what I believed was the explanation to all those “this doesn’t make any sense” issues. I believe that if you apply my explanation to all those times, it will then make (I almost said ‘perfect’), sense. Here is how I have it figured: everything is designed to take the money from the 99 per centers and funnel it to the 0.1 per centers.

Example: You probably just got a letter from your bank’s visa department. It told you that charges were being increased. The $2.50 charges were being increased to $3.50. See, now it makes sense! Apparently, the billions of dollars in profits each year aren’t enough for the banks so they are going to take more of our money.

Just like the price of gasoline is about double what it should be. On that note, I wrote a letter to each of our provincial party leaders on that subject. I got back a couple of replies. Funny thing is, it was almost the same letter back!  Who would have thought the NDP and the PCs would spew the same bs?  You know the nonsense about the price of gas being set by supply and demand. In a way they are right. Big oil supplies the gas so they demand whatever they want.  And now, with the price of oil being low, they demand a bigger price for gasoline to make up for the big profits they aren’t making on oil.

Another example is the prices they were charging those escaping the Fort Mac fire to get home. It would have cost about $1,100 to rent a car from Edmonton to Cranbrook plus a $600 one-way drop-off fee. It was $1,500 to fly with Air Canada from Calgary to Cranbrook. I saved a buddy a bunch of money and drove him home.

If you like the way you are being ripped off, keep voting for the main political parties. They will do everything they can to give your money to the 0.1 per centers!
