What is with all this talk about the “good old days” when everyone in the community knew each other and attended socials? Those “good old days” didn’t go anywhere. Since the start of 2014, the Town of Whitecourt has held social community events for adults. These monthly events foster community spirit, give you a chance to hang out with or make new friends, provide active and fun opportunities and, most of all, give you a reason to just get out there and have some fun! It’s free and registration is not required. These Night Out in Whitecourt (NOW) events are listed on the calendar at www.whitecourt.ca.
Did you miss out on the learn-to-line-dance event last Friday? Then be sure to catch February’s wine tasting.
You can also get involved by sponsoring an event or taking part in the event planning. If interested, contact Kelly Sadoway at 780-778-3637 ext. 421.
NOW is just one of the ways Whitecourt is proactive and social. Party in the Park, numerous events, clean green spaces, and beautification projects; it’s enough to make you say “Wow!” Way to go, Whitecourt. We are truly fortunate to live in a town where our economic, mental, social, and physical needs are considered in everything from urban planning to entertainment.
