Haven’t you always wanted to try a little bit of spicy salsa? You can on Friday night at the next NOW event.
Salsa dancing originated in New York and has its basis in Cuban rhythms and the Mambo. It’s very popular and a lot of fun. A night out dancing brings great health benefits. It decreases stress. The activity, plus time spent with people in a social atmosphere, really works to elevate the mood and stimulate the mind. And, of course, it’s great exercise. You can burn about 400 calories in one evening out having fun. Doing it regularly can increase your strength, your energy, and your co-ordination. But, basically, it’s a lot of fun.
“We did a line dancing night earlier in the year,” said organizer Kelly Sadoway. “People loved it, and we thought we’d try another kind of dance this time.”
Night Out in Whitecourt events bring people in Whitecourt together for socializing and having a good time. Events are held once per month. This month’s Salsa Dance is being held at Vapors Nightclub in Whitecourt on Friday, November 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. There is no entry fee, and no registration is required. Just show up and have a good time.
Be sure to wear clothing both suitable for a nightclub and comfortable to move in. You will be twisting and spinning. Your shoes should be comfortable and flexible, and they should fit the foot snugly without slipping off. You also want a shoe that lets you turn smoothly without gripping the floor. Leather soles are best.
