The Whitecourt Cats Football team held its first home game at Graham Acres on September 14 against the High Prairie Renegades. Temperatures hovering near freezing didn’t stop the Cats from playing a great game. From the first quarter, the Cats proved to have some very strategic moves and blocks keeping the Renegades downfield. The Cats were able to keep the lead on the scoreboard for the remainder of the game with a final score of 55-22. Their next home game is Friday, September 21 against the Mavericks.
As a reminder, the Cats start their door-to-door blitz beginning September 24 selling the Cats Cards once again. The money raised from these cards helps the team with travel expenses and, in turn, allows the cardholder store discounts at participating shops in town.
