First Nation took place at the Graham Acres Sports Complex ball diamonds over the weekend. This is the first year Whitecourt held the event, and the Alexis Nakota First Nation is very proud to have been able to bring it in. Twenty-four teams from 15 different communities ranging from
Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories took part in the three-day series. With several tents set up offering food, drinks, and even a pro shop to peruse, organizers did a fantastic job covering the needs of those in attendance. Committee member, Rene Letendre, hopes to make this a yearly get together for the area. “We look forward to working together with the Town of Whitecourt in the future to help make this a successful, annual event.” Lots of hard work over several months paid off as teams enjoyed themselves and spectators witnessed some fantastic ball.
