The Trudeau government has good political reasons for wanting to leave it to someone else to referee the fight over the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion. But it is eventually going to have to get more deeply involved, make a decision, and make that decision stick. Because when you’re the federal government and the issue is an interprovincial pipeline, you’re where the buck stops.
