Spring is in the air and what better way to celebrate nice weather on the horizon than with a road trip?
Mayerthorpe seniors have two fun and active trips coming up quickly. The first is the Pinty’s Grand Slam Curling Championship which is a whole weekend of fun from April 29 to May 1 in Sherwood Park. Participants will be entered in all the draws, be provided with accommodations and transportation, as well as breakfasts for the $200 (double), $250 (single) registration fee. Although the registration deadline for this event has passed, it’s anticipated to be a great weekend of fun away.
Secondly, seniors are invited to attend the Northlands Casino & Thoroughbred Racing event on Friday, May 13. Registration is open until May 9. The race begins at 6:30 p.m. and registration for the outing is $20. There is only room for 14 people on this excursion so register soon if you are interested. Pick-ups will begin at 1 p.m. at Goose Lake Hall and departure from the event will be the same day, late in the evening. This is a great opportunity for an affordable day trip filled with racing excitement and a chance to win big!
To register, contact the West End Bus Co-ordinator at 780-284-9321 or by email web@mayerthorpe.ca, and make your payment in person at the town office once registration is confirmed.
