The Town of Whitecourt is proud to announce the appointment of Doug Tymchyshyn as the new Director of Community Safety.
As the Director of Community Safety, Mr. Tymchyshyn will oversee emergency management operations, the Whitecourt Fire Department, municipal bylaw enforcement, and community crime prevention programming. This position also liaises with the Whitecourt RCMP Detachment in regard to community policing initiatives, and acts as the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer.
“I’m extremely excited to be coming to Whitecourt, and to assist with delivering services that the community desires,” said Mr. Tymchyshyn.
Mr. Tymchyshyn brings over 30 years of local government experience to Whitecourt, and most recently worked as the Chief Legislative Officer and Manager of Legislative Services for Parkland County. Over the years he has worked in various departments, and his well-rounded knowledge and skill set will be an asset to the organization and community.
“Doug brings extensive municipal expertise to this key role, and I look forward to welcoming him to the
management team,” added Peter Smyl, Chief Administrative Officer.
Mr. Tymchyshyn joins the Whitecourt team in his new position on December 11, 2017.
