At the May 17th Municipal Planning Committee (MPC) meeting, Woodlands County approved the construction of a 10,000-square foot hangar for Lakeshore Helicopters Ltd. Located at the Whitecourt Airport, the hangar will be used for both fixed and rotary wing aircraft, and will employ 5-10 staff when fully operational.
The project has an estimated value of $2.5 million with construction anticipated to begin in August and completion before the end of 2017. This will be the second location for Lakeshore Helicopters Ltd. as they currently operate out of Fort McMurray.
