Tamela Belcourt Pudar and Holly Astill, both members of the Whitecourt Pins & Pine Needles Quilt Guild, represented the guild on Tuesday evening last week as they happily presented a handful of veterans from the Mayerthorpe Legion with quilts to call their own. Guild members created the six quilts as part of Quilts of Valour, a Canadian organization that supports injured Canadian Armed Forces members, past and present, by gifting them beautiful handmade quilts for comfort. Each recipient at the Mayerthorpe Legion posed with their quilt with a big smile, warmly wrapped by the love, care and hours of work that went into making their new favourite blanket.
