We’re off to the second round, baby! Whitecourt’s team, THE WOLVERINES, won a massive game on Friday night in game five of their best-of-seven playoff series against the Camrose Kodiaks. After winning the first three games back-to-back-to-back, Camrose managed to win one at home, forcing game five in Whitecourt. Motley opened the scoring in the first, with Bianchet and Venneman adding goals in the second. In the third, goals by Rheaume, Browne and Verbeek exploded the atmosphere in JDA Place as the Wolverines took a 6-0 lead. The Kodiaks did manage to get one goal in, robbing Avakyan of the shutout, but the ultimate prize was punching their ticket to the second round. Go, Wolverines, Go!
