Miss Noveletto’s 3N class at St. Mary School has been working very hard to help others. It all started with its idea to raise money for Fort McMurray residents, and has evolved into a school-wide fundraiser that brought in over $1,280. Posters were made to spread the news of the two special days planned: a Hat Day and a Bubblegum Day. Students were to bring in a donation in order to “break the rules” and wear a hat or chew bubblegum in class. Popsicles and freezies were also sold as part of the fundraiser. 3N student, Lily, said it was important to help because “if something like that happened to us, we would hope to get help, too.” The money will go towards fulfilling the needs of displaced Fort McMurray residents who are staying in Whitecourt.
