Construction workers have been working steadily at the Provincial Courthouse to complete the upgraded project. With the roof now in place, crews have been working rain or shine on what will become the new holding cells. Currently, prisoners waiting to go before the judge to have their case heard are either housed at the RCMP station or sit in the sheriff’s prisoner van in the parking lot. A confirmed completion date has not been given.
