The Whitecourt Seniors Circle held its Annual Crib Tournament on Canada Day, a tradition that has been taking place for well over 10 years. This year’s friendly competition included 28 players which is a bit lower than previous years but still a great turnout. Darlene Brown, the event organizer, said it’s a “fun time with good people.” Everyone enjoyed a bit of cake afterwards thanks to the Town of Whitecourt who donates a delicious delicacy each year. Regular play times for crib at the circle happen on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. In August, the seniors will be teaching school-aged children how to floor curl.
