Despite heavy rainfall warnings that saw activities move from the recreational grounds to the community centre, Blue Ridge Family Fun Day was a bustling success. In its sixth year, the celebration had lots to see and do including an outdoor petting zoo with birds, bunnies, pigs, and goats that thrilled eager little animal lovers. Horse-drawn wagon rides were very popular as were all the free hot dogs and refreshments available.
Inside were lineups to activity stations and with a light-up Woodlands County bracelet and station stamp passport handed out at the door, participants were ready to collect entries into a grand prize draw. Face painting, a drum circle, and a scat identification table were just some of the activities waiting inside for participants. In attendance were Woodlands County councillors Ron Govenlock, Sylvia Bonnett, and Bruce Prestidge who witnessed first-hand the growing popularity of the event and the fun being had by all.
