> The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour, presented by Crowe MacKay, took place at the Whitecourt Golf & Country Club on Wednesday afternoon. Thirty-three youth golfers ranging in age from 12 to16 and from Peace River to Edmonton, descended onto the greens to play a round of golf. Whitecourt is one of 25 stops on the tour with 22 left on the season. Dunc Mills, executive director of the tour, says the pro-like events give kids a good platform and “an environment where they can achieve while also having fun.” Lots of youth golfers from the tour have gone on to play in Canadian Opens, helping to grow the game as well as their skills while also encouraging other youth to join in on the fun. The tour has been coming to Whitecourt for over eight years.
