Hilltop High School student Payton Baker received a well-deserved shout-out on the school’s social media last week for her loving gesture towards area seniors. After hearing about a project at the Mayerthorpe Public Library, Secret Santa for Seniors, which brings senior’s Christmas wishes to life, Baker thought her school could do the same. Working hand in hand with Spruceview Lodge, senior’s wishes have been written onto cards and are hanging on the tree. Students and residents can take a card, buy the gift, and return it to the school unwrapped by December 20. Spruceview seniors without family this Christmas, or those who need a little extra Christmas cheer, can have their wishes come true, thanks to the community’s generosity. If you want to participate, visit the school office during regular hours. Great job, Payton!
