The saying/parable “walk a mile in their shoes” means you can’t truly understand what a person is feeling unless you have the same experience. While experiencing rape, sexual assault, and violence against women is something no sane person would wish on anyone else, the “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” program provides a lighthearted way to deliver awareness and education about these very serious issues.
This popular Walk program, started by Frank Baird in 2001, is now an annual international event and Whitecourt is very proud to be a participant. A big thank you to all the men who strutted in heels and walked the Walk, the volunteers, event organizers, and all the supporters.
