More and more people hope to take a vacation and get away from it all. However, if you travel to a foreign country you may not understand the language.
For some people, this will change. The Whitecourt & District Public Library has been holding Basic Spanish lessons since February 1 which will continue until March 8. Instructor Cristina Currie is teaching the program. Besides English, she speaks fluent Spanish as she’s from Tampico in Tamaulipas, Mexico.
Students London and Natalie Jakubow registered for the class because they do a lot of traveling and would like to speak the language. Bob Meehan joined as he plans on riding his motorcycle throughout Mexico. Kim Currie is attending because Spanish is part of her culture.
