“This is a massive fundraiser for us,” said Baranowski. While the centre is funded primarily through Family & Community Support Services, Baranowski explained that most grants don’t cover food purchases. She recalled how last year’s Pumpkin Giveaway food donations lasted until this September, and that this year’s event was striving to accept enough donations to last until next October.
