Saturday was Whitecourt’s 4th annual Mutt Strut held in Rotary Park and despite the cold temperatures for the day, there was a great turnout. Sponsored by Global Pet Foods and Original Joe’s Restaurant, the five-kilometre dog walk and run had dozens of eager participants. At the event was Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS) with dogs ready to adopt and all proceeds from the event going towards its organization. The Mutt Strut also had giveaways, raffle prizes, and a 50/50 draw. Swag bags were given to all the participants, and the Global Pet Foods team was on hand to help guide and register the participants and hand out treats for the animals. The Original Joe’s community food truck was on site to provide hot lunches and refreshments. A photo booth set up by Fatina at Pet Spa and Portraits helped to capture the participants with an I survived the Mutt Strut backdrop. Overall, the organizers reported the event as a complete success with a guarantee to return next year.
