Whitecourt RCMP investigate fatal pedestrian collision on Highway 43

 On June 28, 2019 at approximately 5:00 a.m., RCMP
responded to a call of a vehicle colliding with a pedestrian on Highway
43 at 51 Street.
Preliminary investigation revealed an SUV was travelling on Highway 43
when it collided with a pedestrian. Unfortunately, the 25-year-old
female pedestrian from Edson was pronounced dead on scene. The driver
was not injured. The investigation is ongoing; however, no charges have been laid.
