Whitecourt RCMP investigate man being struck by train

 On June 27, 2019 at approximately 8:00 p.m., RCMP
responded to a call of a male being struck by a train on railway
property near 50th Avenue.
On arrival RCMP located a 45-year-old male with serious injuries. The
male was transported to hospital in Edmonton where he remains to receive
treatment.
The cause of collision is unknown. The train crew was not injured and
has been offered support through Whitecourt Victim Support Services.
The investigation is ongoing. Drugs and/or alcohol are believed to be
factors in this incident.
